Preparation

Prepare the Bread: Start by slicing the Challah bread into slices that are approximately 1 inch thick. If your Challah loaf is large, you can adjust the number of slices based on how many servings you plan to make.

Whisk the Egg Mixture: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, crack the eggs and add the whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Use a whisk to thoroughly blend the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined. This egg mixture will serve as the coating for your Challah slices.

Soak the Bread: Take each slice of Challah bread and dip it into the prepared egg mixture, ensuring that both sides of the bread are fully coated. Allow any excess egg mixture to drip off the bread before transferring it to the cooking surface.

Cook the French Toast: Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil to prevent the bread from sticking. Once the skillet is hot and the butter is melted, carefully place the coated Challah slices onto the skillet. Cook each slice for approximately 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until the French toast is golden brown and crispy on the outside. Use a spatula to flip the slices halfway through the cooking process to ensure even browning.

Serving

Serve Warm: Once the Challah French Toast slices are cooked to perfection, remove them from the skillet and transfer them to individual plates. Serve the French toast immediately while it is still warm, as this is when it is most delicious and satisfying.
